Biographical Information

I began providing computer services on a part-time basis before and during law school (about 1995 to 1998). In 1999, I passed the Virginia bar exam and became a licensed attorney. I practiced law part-time until about the spring of 2003. Somewhere along the way, I discovered that I have a knack for database design, which is now my full-time profession.

In August 2006, I joined the development team at WorqSmart (formerly Waves in Motion) in Phoenix, Arizona. In September 2008, I left WorqSmart and am again developing databases as an independent consultant.

I received my Juris Doctorate from American University's Washington College of Law in 1998. During my last semester, I externed at the U.S. Department of Justice in conjunction with a seminar in product liability. My greatest legal strengths are in negotiation (I received an award for the highest grade in Lawyer Bargaining) and litigation. My coursework concentrated toward IT law (e.g., Computer law & Drafting; Law in the Information Society) and litigation-related topics (e.g., Trial Practice; Pretrial Litigation; Complex Litigation).

As an undergraduate, I aspired toward a singing career and received my Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Vermont in 1992. While I eventually switched toward a more lucrative and family-friendly vocation, I have continued to sing part-time. I was cantor at the Church of the Ascension and St. Agnes in Washington, DC from 1996 to 2006. The choir recorded 2 albums while I was there: one of masses by Roland de Lassus, and one of various Christmas and Epiphany music. I have sung with the Woodley Ensemble , Gaudeamus and Collegium Cantorum, three professional choirs in Washington, DC. In 2002, I had the distinct pleasure of singing three performances of Tallis' Spem in Alium with The Tallis Scholars as a guest performer with Woodley Ensemble. I am actively seeking an opportunity to sing in a top-notch choral group in the Phoenix area. Please contact me if you know of any.
